Times move on and Clarkes Solicitors announced the closure of its Oakengates office on 16 March 2018 after some 45 years of trading in the town. For the better servicing of client affairs, the business of the Oakengates office and all the staff have transferred to Clarkes Telford Centre office.
LLP member, Paul Roberts, said ‘the closure will improve the services we can give to our clients by undertaking legal work for the area at Telford Centre where we have 12 solicitors and further caseworkers with specialisms in most areas of legal work’.
Three of Clarkes current LLP members, Paul Harrison, Jonathan Mason as well as Paul Roberts, have at some stage in their legal career worked at the Oakengates office and it is with some sadness that the closure has been announced. However, with the more specialised nature of legal work in modern times, it is a necessary step to maintain and improve the levels of client services.
As Jonathan said, ‘If any Oakengates client wishes a home visit, this can be arranged by calling our Telford Centre office on (01592) 291666 and a caseworker will be happy to come out to visit’.
Oakengates has been a busy office for Wills and Private Client services and any client wanting to speak to us regarding this service can call Karen Cureton on (01952) 291666. Karen said ‘I have been covering the private client work at Oakengates for many years and am always happy to visit an Oakengates area client at home. All they have to do is give me a call’.
There is ample easy parking at Telford Centre including in the Long Stay 1 multi-storey car park, which is particularly good for disabled access. There are lifts in the car park as well as disabled parking on level 2 of the car park. Clarkes offices are easy to find, being located on the level 2 bridge link level where the bridge passes through Hazledine House into Telford Shopping Centre.
